On July 30th, the U.S. government announced they are ending the “de minimis” exemption on August 29th. This was a policy that has, until now, allowed lower value packages from outside the U.S. to enter duty-free.
With that exemption gone and with most couriers not yet equipped to collect actual duty rates by country you may be charged a large flat-rate, blanket import fee (between $80-200) on every package coming from abroad, no matter how small the order.
This simply isn’t sustainable for our customers and we can’t risk having packages refused or stuck at the border if customers are hit with surprise fees they can’t pay. The vast majority of our customers are in the U.S., so we’re being forced to pause all U.S. shipping after August 25.
It’s devastating.
We’ve just stocked our entire warehouse with our fall collection, and with such short notice, we don’t have the time or resources to shift direction that quickly.
But this is more than a pause. It’s a make-or-break moment for our small business. We’re offering 40–60% OFF our entire shop to clear inventory and serve our amazing US customers before this policy takes effect.
While it’s a significant loss for us, it's a chance for you to grab the pieces you love while supporting the artisans behind them. We will be working tirelessly behind the scenes to figure out how to make this work. But the reality is, if we’re able to transition and reopen in the future, it will likely be on a much smaller scale.
So if there’s something you’ve had your eye on or a favorite you want to stock up on, now is the time!
If you’re not in a position to make a purchase, please consider sharing this sale with your friends and community. Your support in any form means more than ever.
Thank you for being part of this journey with us. We truly don’t know what’s next, but we’re holding onto hope. Hope that we can continue making an impact together with you, and keep sharing our artisans’ beautiful work with you all.
