Leather is a natural material that needs to be loved and cared for in order to live its longest life. Scuffs happen, especially when little ones are playing, but you’ll be surprised how much a leather conditioner can renew and protect your shoes. Genuine leather is so durable as long as it’s treated with love. Moisturize your shoes with a conditioner consistently and they’ll love you for it.
Leather Care
Brown Leather
Step One: Clean shoe with leather shoe wipes, or a damp cloth.
Step Two: Let shoes dry completely.
Step Three: Condition with Saddle Soap. Use a cloth, soft sponge or your fingers to apply. Wipe off excess Saddle Soap and let dry.
Step Four: To waterproof your shoes, use Mink oil. Apply liberally the sponge included in the tub and let dry. Mink oil conditions and protects leather from the damaging effects of water, stains and salt. It restores natural oils to preserve, nourish and moisturize the leather, keeping it soft and supple.
Dark Colored Leather
Step One: Clean shoe with leather shoe wipes, or a cloth.
Step Two: Let shoes dry completely.
Step Three: Use Leather Shoe Cream, according to what color leather you are treating, to reapply the color to the scuffs.
Step Four: Wipe off excess shoe cream and let dry.
Light Colored Leather
Step One: Clean shoes gently with a damp cloth.
Step Two: Let shoes dry completely.
Note: Lighter leather will show dirt and scuffs more and it is harder to find a matching shoe cream to restore its color. We have added a slight gloss to protect it better and make them easier to wipe clean, however closed-toe shoes will be more prone to scuffs and we recommend treating those with care.
